History May Not Repeat—But It Rhymes!
In June of 1979, Pope John Paul II visited his native Poland—a nation a restive nation under the seemingly iron grip of Soviet Communism. Ten years later communism—and Soviet rule—ended in Poland. Much happened in the ten years between these two dates to bring this about.
However,
it was the Pope’s initial visit which set these events into motion. The ruling
Communist regime suspicious of the visit, required that the Pope make no
statements which were of a political nature—or could even be implied to be so.
The Pope agreed. He complied. All that he did was to say mass at his public
events.
However,
what happened was that the Polish people assembled in their millions at his
multiple masses. Communism was officially atheistic. It maintained mass and
individual surveillance over the entire population. No one could trust anyone except,
possibly, close family members.
So, when
the people assembled in their millions; for the first time they could all see
that THEY were the vast majority. The ruling regime was in fact an isolated
minority. The downfall of the regime became inevitable at that moment.
What does
this have to do with contemporary America?
On April 5th,
2025, about 5.5 million Americans assembled across the length and breadth of
America. Unlike past national demonstrations, these assemblies were not
concentrated in just a few large cities—they were everywhere.
From small
rural villages in the reddest of red states, to the very largest cities in the
bluest of blue states, Americans poured out into the streets to express their dissatisfaction
with the increasingly oppressive Trump regime.
Everywhere,
they saw that they were not alone in their opposition to the ruling regime. They
were individuals, and they were multitudes! In my own City of Oceanside
California, possessing a population of about 180,000, several thousand people
turned out! To our south at least 25,000 turned out in San Diego!
These turnouts
were repeated across my county, state, region, nation! We all, collectively,
beheld that we were not just isolated, dissatisfied individuals, but that we
were multitudes!
This
realization along with its geographic dispersion will prove to be critically
important for America’s future because on January 29th, 2025, Donald
Trump issues an Executive order entitled “Declaring a National Emergency at the
Southern Border.” [https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/01/29/2025-01948/declaring-a-national-emergency-at-the-southern-border-of-the-united-states]
Section 6b of this order states:
“(b) Within
90 days of the date of this proclamation, the Secretary of Defense and the
Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit a joint report to the President
about the conditions at the southern border of the United States and any
recommendations regarding additional actions that may be necessary to obtain
complete operational control of the southern border, including whether to
invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807.”
90 days means by
April 20; though since this is a Sunday and Trump is likely to be busy golfing
that day, so April 21st may be the actual date the Insurrection Act
is invoked.
Invoking the
Insurrection Act won’t be limited to just the southern border, geographically.
It will apply to the entire United States. This will be, in effect, a declaration
of national martial law! Invocation of the Act will allow Trump to deploy
military forces across the nation. [See: https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/insurrection-act-explained
for details.]
The date of April 20th
is significant for two reasons: 1) The next national demonstrations against the
Trump regime are scheduled for the day before—April 19th. See www.fiftyfifty.one for details as to where
your local event will be located. 2) April 20th is, among other
things, Adolf Hitler’s birthday.
On the other hand,
the date of April 19th is also historically significant. It’s the
250th anniversary of the battles of Lexington and Concord—which sparked
the American Revolution. Perhaps to be remembered as the FIRST American
Revolution.
Given all of this,
PLEASE attend your local demonstration on the 19th! This may be the
last time that public demonstrations will be allowed in America, until the
Trump regime is removed.
